My Facebook friends freaked out the other day when I mentioned that this was being reissued. Really Rosie was a 1975 TV special written by Carole King and Maurice Sendak. It was adapted for children’s theater by 1980. I know this because I played Johnny in a summer camp production that summer.
It fits somewhere between You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Point, with a touch of Free To Be You and Me. The Gen Xers in my circles remember it fondly.
Legacy Recordings will reissue it on 2/28/25. Pre-order it here for $20.97.
