This playlist documents what is happening in the Maine music scene right now. I created it in February for my own convenience. I needed a portable way to keep track of the incredible music Mainers create. Artists tell me over and over that they need more exposure. Now I’m sharing it with you. I update the playlist almost daily.

Here are some highlights.

Dominic Lavoie’s “Saints and Queens” is a perfect mid-tempo rocker for early spring. It makes me feel great to be alive. Check out Brian Graham’ (Fogcutters) awesome sax break in the middle.

Louisa Stancioff enchants us with her sensual cover of R.E.M.’s “Strange Currencies” from their album Monster.

“This Is Not an Exit” is Mammothor’s excellent new single. I imagine that singer Travis Lowell’s grew up listening to WTOS and WCYY. It’s apparent from Mammothor’s sound, which is 66.6% heavy metal and 33.4% hard rock.

The lyrics to The Mallet Brothers Band‘s peppy roots rock song “Outer Limits” grabbed me. As someone who just started their own business, I’m exploring my own outer limits

Reverend Rooster‘s rough voice sounds so authentic in his love song “ONE HUNDRED THREE.” The song stars off gently with acoustic guitar and piano. Thanks to a good arrangement, 2/3 of the way through the mood from quiet love into full-on joy.

Enjoy. I hope to see you at one of these artists’ shows soon.

This is the state of music in the State of Maine. This playlists focuses on new singles, tracks from new albums, and older songs by artists whose next releases are imminent. I update this playlist several times a week.

Thomas Charles Clukey has tons of momentum right now. He straddles the line between country and folk. “Freedom’s Callin’” is the first studio recording he has released. It is exclusive to YouTube.

Human Moods‘ new CD and LP isn’t streaming right now. You can watch this cool video or get the CD or vinyl at Bull Moose.

The only way to hear what Dave Gutter is up to was to buy his new CD at his 4/18/25 show or listen to the teaser Reels on his Instagram.
