“On the one hand you have people who are looking for their next favorite band and on the other hand you have bands that want to be someone’s favorite. I love bringing them together. The methods have changed over the years, but the goal is the same–enriching people’s lives with music.” ~ Chris Brown

He often appears on television, radio, and in print. He recently completed a 21-year run on WSCH-6 and WLBZ-2, Portland’s and Bangor’s NBC affiliates.

He is known as a champion for Maine and New Hampshire artists. While at Bull Moose, he issued more than $4 million dollars in payments to local musicians and venues. He was on the boards of The Boy Singers of Maine and The Portland Music Foundation, and joined the board of the Maine Academy of Modern Music in 2025.

“I don’t even know where to begin in trying to summarize how crucial Chris Brown has been to developing and supporting independent music, both locally and internationally. Speaking from my vantage point, there isn’t a single record I’ve released since 1995 that Chris hasn’t been instrumental in supporting and marketing through every means he had at his disposal. I’m sure I’m not the only artist who feels this way. I’m able to be the musician that I want to be due in no short part to Chris Brown.”
